چکیده
Abstract—Fly ash is a waste material of coal firing thermal plants that is released from thermal power plants. It was defined as very fine particles that are drifted upward which are taken up by the flue gases. The emerging amount of fly ash in the world is approximately 600 million tons per year. In our country, it is expected that will be occurred 50 million tons of waste ash per year until 2020. The fly ashes can be evaluated by using as adsorbent material. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of use of various fly ashes (Tuncbilek, Catalagzi, Orhaneli) like lowcost adsorbents for heavy metal adsorption. First of all, fly ashes were characterized. For this purpose; analyses such as XRD, XRF, SEM and FT-IR were performed.

SUMMARY: The disposal of fly ashes from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) is becoming a growing environmental issue in Europe. In order to avoid landfilling and recycle MSWI fly ashes, initiatives aim to recycle them in cement production. While numerous studies have analyzed the impact of MSWI ashes application on the concrete quality and the leaching of potentially hazardous heavy meta...

Molten fly ashes generated from melting treatment of municipal solid waste and automobile shredder residues are characterized as hazardous waste due to the high content of heavy metals such as Zn, Pb and Cu. In addition, the heavy metal resources could be depleted in the near future and thus, the research towards conservation of metal resources is required. In the present work, volatilization b...

Biomasses are organic materials that are derived from any living or recently-living structure. Plenty of biomasses are produced nationwide. Biomasses are mostly combusted and usually discarded or disposed of without treatment as biomass ashes, which include wood and sugarcane bagasse ashes. Thus, recycling or treatment of biomass ashes leads to utilizing the natural materials as an economical a...
متن کاملCharacterization of Fly Ash from the Gasification of Wood and Assessment for Its Application as a Soil Amendment
Fly ash was collected as a byproduct from the processing of southern pine wood chips in a pilot-scale biomass gasifier. General properties of the fly ash were determined to assess its applicability as a soil amendment. Its alkaline pH (9.5) and high concentrations of Ca, K, and Mg suggest that it could be used as both a liming agent and a fertilizer. The concentrations of most heavy metals in a...
